I am getting the error "Could Not Load
Target dll (C:\PROGRAM FILES\BACKWEB\BACKWEB CLIENT\6.2.3.66L\PROGRAM\BACKWELL.DLL,
error code 126). I get this everytime I turn my computer on. What
do I do? Unfortunately I can't assist you on what version you have, there's hundreds of them, The program itself is a background downloading program, primarily used for updating software, or communicating with other computers in a business environment, in some cases used for targeted advertising, if you believe you can update your own software, and your not using it to communicate with fellow business people, then it's not entirely necessary

What does invalid backweb application ID 7288971 mean.... thank you Reply from Devilin It means.you've got backweb on your computer.it also means you've probably run some lame anti spyware program.that's only partially killed it.which leaves you with a choice of re-installed. or uninstall The choice is entirely yours.( personal I'd get rid of it )

BACKWEB: My scanner has thrown up 129 different Backweb files. I know my Kodak and Logitec programs are associated with 2 of these, but what about the other 127? How often do you think your software needs to be updated.once it's installed and working? I will tell you what I did and and you judge. About 18 months ago, I converted a 16k .exe file to a .txt and viewed it with Notepad. It had an encypted section about half the size of the file. Yesterday, I did it again now the whole file is encrypted. I think the Backweb product has a built in keystroke logger. Reply from Devilin I believe you're correct in your analysis.backweb would undoubtedly argue.that any keylogging activity is simply done to determine when the computer is inactive. so they could send and receive information/updates while the computer wasn't being used. assuming they ever responded to any direct questions I've asked them.which they don't. Fercilyn..the solution is probably quite simple.re-install.your original software.......... then uninstall it. if your running some anti spyware software.that continuously scans.turn it off during this procedure.and that's probably all you need to do.but if this doesn't work contact me again I am using Tesco Broadband connection who provide FSecure internet security. I am unable to use my PC due to a "Backweb Error" message stating Unable to start Tesco Internet Security BWFiles.dll not found or invalid". When I "OK" the message it just leaves me with a blank blue screen, no taskbar/start button, & when I ctrl/alt/del there are no applications running other the FS files. If I can avoid it I don't want to restore my system as I have a number of pictures on which I haven't had chance to copy to disc & don't want to lose them. Please help!!! F8 key. and while in safe mode uninstall FSecure. and or Backweb FSecure.and switch to a less controversial anti virus system. like avg. tell me how you get on
